N.C.G.R
The National Council for Geocosmic Research is a society for American astrologers, dedicated to raising the bar for astrological education. Through this low-key, even amateurish looking website, the NCGR offers memberships, classes, seminars, conferences, and workshops to students and professional astrologers across America. The NCGR boasts the oldest western astrology certification program, hailing back to 1979. Quite a few famous astrologers, including Robert Hand, Bernadette Brady, Judith Hill, and Steven Forrest are faculty members who speak at NCGR astrology conferences and seminars.
This is essentially a trade or professional organization for astrologers, There is no governing body for astrologers -- no bar association, no guild, no licensing board – but the NCGR fulfills that role as best it can by trying to standardize education and set a standard for professional astrologers. And there are a many astrologers who are NCGR certified in America, but strangely enough, a list of them is notably absent on the website. So, if you want an NCGR certified astrologer, you better hit up Google. You’d think for $55 a year for a membership, the NCGR would get you on a listing so clients could find you, but…no. Curiously, it makes available a list of advertisers in their astrology newsletter.
Of course, the NCGR does offer other things, like beginner classes ranging from $400 to $600. But the newsletter is free, and contains a lot of information of interest to professional astrologers. It may be too daunting for the enthusiast who doesn’t know much beyond their sun sign.

Why no directory of member astrologers? Can’t the N.C.G.R. help a brother or sister out?
