Psychic Entertainers Association
The Psychic Entertainers Association is, first and foremost, not an association of psychics, mediums, or intuitives, but rather entertainers, as in mentalists, cold readers, fortune tellers, and others who work as entertainers without any pretense or claim as to having psychic ability. Does that make them any less talented? No; they just market themselves differently from other psychics, mediums, and intuitives, who tend to market themselves as healers, seers, coaches, and guides. However, the psychics who are members of the psychic entertainers association don’t consider what they do to be supernatural at all.
So, why would you hire one of these people? They do make great entertainment, and the chances of them trying to swindle you by telling you that you’re cursed or that the spirits or telling you to give them more money is slim to none. But if what you want is an actual psychic reading, pass them by.
The mentalists and entertainers associated with the PEA outright say that they don’t believe in ESP, and that they use psychological techniques to read the minds of those in their audiences. The PEA insists that their members strictly offer their services as entertainment.
For those who are still confused, mentalists, fortune tellers, bizarrists, stage hypnotists, and mind readers are all performance artists who use psychological and sociological techniques to cold read their audience. It’s meant to be entertainment, and not informative or therapeutic. They usually do their work on stage or at parties. Some psychic entertainers may do tarot card readings, phrenology, astrology, and palm reading.
