Rob Brezny is a Renaissance man. He’s a well-known astrologer who writes the weekly newsletter, Free Will Astrology, which he’s been doing for about 28 years. It actually is a forerunner to blogs. If you’ve read a blog or newsletter from an astrologer, chances are whatever you’re reading is personal on some level. Brezny was the first to do that. Granted, I don’t think this is necessarily miraculous (and Brezny is really into miracles), but interesting none the less. This isn’t someone’s livejournal hour of emotion, either. He writes about, pronoia, which is the opposite of paranoia: it’s the belief that there is a universal conspiracy to help you, not to get you.
Rob Brezny is probably an acquired taste. If you want someone to tell you that you’re wonderful and everything is going to be fine and all you have to do it sit back on the sofa and be fabulous, you may want someone else. His horoscopes are written for college graduates. This is where you see what is meant by his writing being more personal. He’s a consummate storyteller. In fact, he writes speculative fiction – including “scientifically designed” personal ads – that borders between insightful and insane.
The horoscopes may seem flippant if what you’re actually looking for is fortune telling. This isn’t it. What you do get is some real food for thought that may introduce you to ways of seeing yourself and your lot in life in new ways. You may want to buy his expanded horoscopes.
