Lots of people can recall past lives, but not all recall is genuine. It can be difficult to tell the difference between past life and imagination. However, when you consider what you think are past life memories, do a test through common things mistaken for past live memories.

Pop culture.

The more media we’re exposed to as we age, the more we’re likely to confuse pop culture with memories. This isn’t entirely a phenomenon of living in Western cultures, as those who grew up with oral traditions may confuse myths with realities of the past.

Trauma-induced mental narratives.

Sometimes, when someone is hurting but can’t change anything, they create a new story so that their pain and suffering makes sense to them. For example, an abused child may imagine herself to be a princess locked up in a castle, waiting for someone to rescue her from a wicked witch, because that’s a narrative that helps her understand. However, as time goes on, she starts to think that in some way, she IS a princess, or at least, was one.

Family legends.

If you had a family with a particular legend, such as amazing soldiers, or cunning businessmen, you may think that you were in fact, one of those ancestors in a past life.
